In the midst of a blessedly full months now past, I was fortunate to be commissioned by a client to paint this portrait of Dame Joanna Lumley as Hester Frump, mother of Morticia and grandmother of Wednesday Addams, wearing the black robe à la française she donned during the gala in the show, as she rode the gondola accompanied by Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail.
